Paris, France

A beautiful and romantic city easily accessible by rail or air. A compact city, which can be explored on foot, or using the efficient underground Metro service.

The Eiffel Tower is Pariss signature, and the Champs Elysees is it's corridor. The grand cathedral of the Notre Dame nestles in the centre of the city, overlooking the River Seine, whilst the gleaming domes of the Sacre Coeur basilica gracefully overlook the city from above. Wander through the square in nearby Monmartre with it's many artists, discover flea markets, or go power designer shopping.

The Louvre, with its glass pyramid, and home of the Mona Lisa, is the most famous and classic art gallery, with the nearby Tuileries Gardens, but there are many other galleries to discover such as the Musee d'Orsay, a former railway station. The Georges Pompidou Centre is a striking, tubular, modern building, contrasting with the old. Take a ride on a Baton Mouche down the River Seine.

On the other side of the Seine is the Left Bank, with it's Latin Quarter, literary cafs and art house cinemas. Just outside the city lies the Palace of Versailles, or Disneyland Paris, which many will be tempted to visit.
